As Senior Pastor at Woodbury Baptist Church, my role is to lead worship, minister to our church family members, teach adult classes and work with church leaders serve the congregation by inviting and investing in people to serve Christ, each other and the greater community.

I came to Woodbury Baptist Church in February, 2010 and have quickly immersed myself in the life of the church.  Since arriving in Woodbury, my focus has been on worship and building healthy Christ-like relationships in the church.

The Bible provides guidance for healthy relationships through spiritual maturity and discipleship.  The Bible tells us that it is through the salvation of Christ that our relationship with God is healed and we can truly love and be at peace with others.  This is a gift from God that I teach and try to model.

I have been blessed by many good teachers and writers who love Christ and His gospel.   God reveals His will in the Bible, and that is the starting place for our life as Christians.  We then open ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit to lead us in Christ’s will.

My wife, Elaine Anne and I grew up in Toronto and Nova Scotia respectively, and prior to attending seminary, we both practiced law for sixteen years in Halifax.  We left our legal careers in 2002 to attend Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.  In 2006, I was called to serve as Senior Pastor for Great Bethel Baptist Church in Southwestern Pennsylvania.  While serving the congregation, I earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in Marriage and Family at Palmer Theological Seminary.

I love music of all kinds and bicycle around Woodbury during the summer. While the Yankees have been my team since boyhood, I root for the Twins and enjoy the new field.  Elaine Anne and I live in Woodbury and have two children.  Philip attends the University of Minnesota and Elizabeth attends Woodbury High School.

Hot Dogs & Hats Celebration

Plan to join us, May 27th after worship service, for a quick hotdog and fixings in Fellowship Hall as we enjoy this Memorial Day weekend. Wear your favorite team's hat. Never know, here might even be a little baseball talk!

Celebrating 50 years of Ministry ~ Past, Present & Future

We invite you to join in celebrating 50 years of ministry in the Woodbury community, May 19-20th! We begin with a potluck supper on Saturday evening celebrating our past. Sunday worship will be a wonderful time of praise and thanks for our present ministry, followed by a catered luncheon and program that looks forward to the future. A ministry fair will be presented following worship to highlight ministry areas available at WBC. This will be a great time of thanks, hope and fellowship as we look to our future.
