Youth

Youth groups

Junior and Senior High Youth meet every Sunday at 10:50 AM for their own fellowship, food and fun before going to their B.S.S. classes for Building Spiritual Strength.

Wednesday nights youth groups begin at 6:45 and end between 7:45 and 8:00.  Youth have a choice between a Bible study in the library, and the active Rockin' Believers.  The Bible study is led by Bev Rose.  Rockin' Believers is led by Pastor Carolyn Butler.  Contact Carolyn Butler for up-to-date information.

Throughout the year both junior and senior high youth are involved in many regional youth events such as Youth Leader Corps, youth conventions, church camp, ski weekend, etc.  The youth groups also plan numerous activities like golfing, camping, tubing, Boundary Waters trips, Christmas caroling, and whatever else they can think of!

Youth Praise!

Kids in grades 3 through 9 are invited to participate in Youth Praise.  The group rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 until 6:15, under the direction of Winnie and Jerry Williams (651-735-3315).  Youth Praise sings periodically in church and performs either a play at Christmas or a musical in the spring.  Rehearsals follow the Faithweaver Friends Schedule.  After dinner and prior to youth group, dinner is provided for $2 per person for youth and their families and friends.

Youth mission trips

We try to make sure that all interested youth have the opportunity to serve on a mission trip sometime during their high school years.  We do extensive fundraising to make sure it is affordable, and also assist youth in raising their individual portion.  Some raise all the money through church fundraising.

During the summer of 2007, 2005, 2003, 2001, and 2000 our senior high youth and their adult sponsors traveled to Ruiz, Mexico, to build homes. In 1999 our Junior high youth had their own mission trip to Dayton Oaks camp to build hogans.   Trips in previous years were to Tecate, Mexico.  Youth and children are also welcome with their families on our family mission trips held most summers to various locations.
