We are an
American Baptist Church, begun in
1962 as
a mission congregation by First Baptist Church of St. Paul. However, our members come from a wide variety of Protestant and Catholic
backgrounds. We welcome as members any who believe in Jesus Christ
and wish to join.
We are a diverse community, united and inspired by the
vision of Jesus to impact the world with God's love. Therefore we
will...
 |
Engage in joyful worship. |
 |
Encourage all persons at every stage of life. |
 |
Empower individuals for effective ministry. |
 |
Enlist and invite others to a vital faith in
Jesus Christ.
|
-
We believe
in one God who loved the world so
much that Jesus came in order that anyone who believes in Him would
have eternal and abundant life.
-
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word
of God, and that each person has the right to believe and interpret
scripture as the Holy Spirit of God inspires and guides them.
-
We believe that each person must believe
themselves that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and decide to follow
Him as His disciple. This personal relationship with Jesus
Christ is a foundational tenet of Woodbury Baptist Church.
-
We observe communion on the first Sunday of
each month. We also observe the baptism of believers whenever a
person has decided to become a follower of Jesus Christ and requests
baptism. We dedicate infants to the Lord as a very special part
of a regular worship service.
-
We believe that every follower of Jesus is
invited and called to be a minister in this world and to affect
positive change wherever they live and work.
-
We believe we are part of the world-wide body
of all who believe in Jesus Christ and seek to cooperate with other
Christian groups in order to fulfill Christ's command to love and
invite others to become His believers and followers.
